Jack Simon is a techno and house DJ and producer from Edinburgh, Scotland. He’s well known for his energetic bass orientated DJ mixes with that very same energy shining brightly through out his productions. With a passion for countless genres including dub, jungle, hip hop and bassline, he’s always finding new ways to keep his productions and mixing style fresh and contemporary.
Jack’s journey began around 2010 when he got his hands on a MIDI controller and Traktor. Through hard work and a resounding passion for music, he landed his first gig in the intimate Edinburgh venue Sneaky Pete’s as a guest for the widely respected club night Animal Hospital. After receiving admiration for a well constructed performance, a seed was implanted into his conscious thought patterns and ideas began to take form. Following this night he went on to play at some of Edinburgh’s most well known clubs and venues, smashing it every time.
Naturally he wanted to be able to play by his own rules so he started up the Edinburgh techno and house night FourByFour along with close friend Liam Black. The club rapidly gained momentum over the course of their first year, moving from a basement night club with a capacity of around 150 to a venue that held 500. Here they started to book some of Europe’s finest talent including Bart Skils, Hermanez, Mark Reeve and Phil Kieran.
With the art of mixing truly under his belt and with countless contacts made, Jack turned his attention to producing his own tracks and collaborating with other Edinburgh based producers. This has been fruitful with his material appearing on well respected shows and labels including The 59th Degree and Prescribed.
Along with working on more of his own material and in collaboration with other producers like Sho Nuff, Jack has got his finger firmly on the pulse of the underground. The recent addition of a 6 Kilowatt sound system for his continuous club night project FourByFour enforces this relentless flow of energy ………..……… the fun is far from over.
