Peter Annand is from Edinburgh, UK. A relative newcomer to the underground scene in his home town, he’s made a huge wave in a very short time amassing a loyal following in his wake.
Peters urge to play music to the masses came to fruition after attending a party in 2010. The DJ at the party absolutely mesmerized him with his skills and track selection, and so began his exploration of the electronic music scene and the various genres it encompassed.
Building up experience from playing at parties in flats and various woods in the Scottish Borders, Peter went on to co-found his first club night Möbius. Pushing the boundaries in musical and visual entertainment it wasn’t long before the night was packing out the assembly room of the Glasgow School of Art.
He made his mark on the Edinburgh scene by setting up his own project, Creatures of Habit. The aim of this night was to not only showcase the best in underground music, but to bring together his fellow artists and music lovers from the Edinburgh scene.
In addition to building up a loyal fan base through networking and playing guest slots for local Edinburgh nights like Animal Hospital, FourbyFour, Kapital and Karnival, Peter has shared the bill with artists including Petrichor, Dosem and Sam Paganini. This has given him the platform to showcase sets that develop with diversity and seek to challenge an audience.
His sound has evolved over the years, initially playing breaks and electro, eventually embracing the influence of artists like John Digweed and Dixon. This has led him onto the constantly expanding sounds of techno and house which define his sets today.
Peter’s deep love and passion for the scene continually drives him forward, always wanting to develop existing projects and establish new ones. Expect much more musical goings on from this up and coming star of the Edinburgh underground scene in the future.
